About this photo:

This is some species of Dancer damselfly, possibly a female Blue-tipped Dancer Argia tibialis. See comment on another photo about identification problems.Note the subtle differences between the first damselfly and this one, especially the amount of blue in the rings on the abdomen. Also note that the final segments of the abdomen on this Dancer are black rather than blue.

We photographed this damselfly on a sandy rock in Barton Creek near our house.
